Till the Next Time

Hanging out and taking pictures of Matt, Katie, and Casey was a pleasure.  It has been fun to be around from when Katie was first pregnant till now.  Seeing their family grow not only in numbers but through life experiences has given me a deeper prespective on life.  I am grateful for their friendship and for the chance to photograph their family.

May your family have laughter, peace, happiness, and more playtime in the park.

A Father’s Hands

On the playground there is this bridge that bounces and wobbles when you walk on it.  Not a big deal to older kids, but to a little guy it can be scary.  Both Katie and Matt were trying to get Casey to try it out.  You could tell he wanted to but he wasn’t sure at the same time.

Matt went out on the bridge to show Casey it was ok and then turned around to offer him help.  For some reason the scene really struck me.

I’m going to let the picture speak for itself.

Is that Christmas Sweater?

So one of the things we were trying to accomplish in our little session was to get shots that could be used for Christmas cards.  Sure it was a lovely autumn day but Christmas sneaks up on you and smacks you in the back of the head.  So planning ahead is always a good thing.

The family changed into the Christmas apparel and we gave it a go.  Personally I think Casey’s little sweater is just so flippin’ cute.

At this point in the shoot, he was laughing and having fun.  He had gotten used to some random person being all in his space taking pictures.  So in some ways he was hammin’ it up for me.

He was playing on this bench and turned around and that’s when this picture happened.

Playing in the Leaves

After taking several posed shots we decided that it was time to venture to the playground.  (After dealing with me all in your face, play time is a much needed break.)  While walking to the playground we discovered a massive amount of leaves and decided that playing in the leaves would be fun as well.

Matt, Katie, and Casey all played in the leaves.  Throwing them on each other or just up in the air.  This particular shot was taken by my friend and photography assistant Stephanie.

I love the falling leaves and Casey’s face.

You can see Stephanie additional edited of this photo here.

The Hulme’s

This week I would like to feature the Hulme’s aka Matt, Katie, Casey, and their to-be daughter.

Katie and I used to work together and she has heard me ramble and ramble about how I am attempting to take my photography from hobby to a profession.  She has seen pictures and heard stories of my photoshoots but hadn’t, until now, partaking in one.

The family was a blast.  They were ready to roll with whatever I wanted to try and weren’t scared of the camera.

I love this picture.  I love the expressions on Casey, Katie, and Matt’s faces.  The autumn colors really came alive with the evening sun.  It’s just one of those pictures that will always be one of my favorites.

Love Carries On

Keith, Erin, and Caleb - thank you for allowing me to take pictures of your growing family.  You are a picture of love and hope.  You are an example of patience and dedication to what you know you are meant to be.

May you share many kisses, laughs, and moments that are priceless to your heart and soul.

Keith

Keith is a good guy….actually he’s a great guy.  He never ceases at being available to help, teach, encourage, etc.  He is a quiet strength to anyone who knows him.

So to show off the sweater (that Erin loves) Keith endured having his picture taken alone for a few minutes.

It reminds me of a senior portrait, but with real trees!

Peanut

Erin often writes little letters to Caleb each week.  When she first started she addressed them to Peanut.  I thought it was one of the cutest things ever, so I simply couldn’t resist incorporating Peanut into some of our maturnity shots.

I really love this one because Peanut is the focus yet even though Erin isn’t the focus, she still smiling away.

You Are Loved

I don’t want to get all mushy but I just want to take a moment to tell Caleb that you are loved my friend.  Your parents have been waiting for you.  You are an answer to many prayers.  So if you ever have one of those days where you don’t feel loved, remember this - your parents have loved you before you were even born.

Erin, Keith, and Caleb aka Peanut

This week’s posts will center around an incredible couple Erin and Keith.  Erin and Keith are expecting their first child - Caleb and since one’s belly is always with them, we took some family portraits and maturnity shots.

Erin was a tad shy about having her picture taken.  (I don’t blame her I am not a fan of having my picture taken either.)  But after some laughs and me slightly picking on her, she warmed right up.

Aren’t the cute?!
