Checkmate

Sticking with the theme - this shot is from the film set of the {Re}Gifter.
I am horrible at chess. I don’t have the patience, nor to I care to attempt to think ahead so many moves, but I love to photograph chess pieces. Usually they have great lines and colors and you can do so much with them.
This particular set in used in the film of the {Re}Gifter. The actors were doing a read through so I jumped at the chance to take some pictures of the chess set.
Hangin On

This is once again from the set of the {Re}Gifter.
I have a little wooden man that is often my muse for many photos. I have wanted a wooden hand to add to my collection. So when I saw one was on the set I just had to take pictures of it.
This shot makes me thinking of hanging on and working hard. Which are two things the crew of the {re}gifter are great at doing.

Assistance

Once again this shot is from the film set for the {Re}Gifter.
For some reason this shot really jumped out to me and I attempted to be all sneaky when I took it.
Everyone needs assistance in life. Whether it is for work, photo assignments, or on a film set - having someone whose got your back is important. The person in this shot has been someone who has been there for me. In fact she is there for many people.
The simple colors and the layout of the shot really remind me of our need to be there for each other.
The {Re}Gifter

I have the honor of being one of the set photographers for the Cincinnati Vineyard’s Christmas production called The {Re}Gifter. The play is a mash up of film and stage and is the most creative project I have ever seen a church do.
The pictures for this week come from my time on the set for the film aspect. You’ll notice I have only choosen the photos that don’t reveal much of the plot. They are the more artsy shots of all I have taken.
If you are looking for something to do in the evening (6pm or 8pm) on either Dec 21, 22, or 23, I highly recommend coming to check out the {Re}Gifter.

Last but Not Least

Ok, so I am a bit of a trouble maker myself. I like to pick on my friends as well. And I must admit I decided to post this picture last because I know Sarah has been itching “to be featured” on the blog. So I figured I’d mess with her a bit and post her’s on the last day.
Sarah is a friend I have known but yet I’m not sure when we met or how. Through the years our paths have crossed randomly and since she has moved back to the area we get to hang out more often.
She wanted “new Facebook” pictures from the shoot, so I took some. Some of them were normal good natured poses and some involved weird faces and her sticking her butt in the air. But those are for her to post not for me too.
Sarah thank you for the offer to photograph your family. It was a complete blast and an enjoyable experience.
To each member of the Craynon family, thank you for your friendship over the years and for always welcoming me into your life. May our paths contiune to cross and may you contiune to enjoy each other’s company and laughter.
The Youngest

One of the things that made me chuckle during the shoot was Aimee’s desire to be in the middle of the groupings. You see the problem is she is the shortest of the group, so the middle just doesn’t always work for her. Not to mention when I did put her the middle she got picked on by her older sisters. (Not that I would ever encourage them to tickle her….I am not like that.)
So instead of the middle I took some shots of her and her then boyfriend now fiancee, Andrew. Personally I think the picture is adorable and she was only picked on from a distance by her family.
Awww…

Sometimes I open a photo on the computer after downloading it and I simply go “awww…”. This was one of those photos.
I always ask if there are any particular photos that anyone wants taken. It’s important to make sure if you are wanting a certain shot that you are able to say, “hey take a picture of me with so and so”. Lena had asked me to take some pictures of her and Justin - so of course I was on it.
Mom and Dad

So I took shots of different groupings of the family. Sisters, dad with the girls, mom with the girls, and mom and dad.
I’m not sure what it is about this shot, but I just love it. The colors in the background, the house, the color of the sweaters and the simply fact that I really like the subjects as well.
Here’s the lovely parents of the motley crew.
