Gratitude Day 18
I am grateful for being taught that I am more than just myself. That the world is as small as my backyard and that my neighbor can be next door or on the other side of the world.
These pictures were taken back in April of 06. They are from the Global Night Commute which was a worldwide event organized by the makers of the film Invisible Children through the organization Invisible Children Inc.
The group you see above walked from Longworth Hall and spent the night outside at the Freedom Center to show support for Ugandan children who walk every night into city centers attempting to avoid capture by the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA).
The picture on the left is at the start of our commute (from Longworth Hall) and the picture on the right was from the morning after when we finished (in front of the Freedom Center).
